FAQ: Traveling to Egypt during Ramadan

Traveling to Egypt during this Muslim holiday can be a wonderful cultural experience, but there are a few things to know...

During Ramadan, establishments close earlier in the afternoon to allow people to go home and pray. Then, everything opens back up at sundown and people happily break their fast. Please note that it may be more difficult to find alcohol and nightlife in an Islamic country during Ramadan.

Ramadan does not begin until the last three days of the March 2023 trip. For the April 2023 trip, Ramadan ends on Day 7, where you'll get to see people celebrating the joyous Eid al-Fitr holiday.

Where Autumn is King

Autumn + Garrotxa, an exquisite combination. We still have a few spots left for this journey.
View this email in your browser

Garrotxa's Finest Season

Some places on this planet just do yellow woods and rustling leaves better. The forests turn with more ochre and fire. The hearth crackles with finer meats. The air fills the lungs fresher, the wine warms the soul deeper. You get the picture: it's Autumn, and when it's good, it's very very good.

Introducing: Garrotxa. A supreme cut of Catalunya located between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean, Garrotxa in October is Peak Autumn. Light scarf and smug smile Autumn. Goat cheese and botifarra Autumn. Cover image of that calendar hanging in your kitchen Autumn.

Our League of Traveler's trip to Catalunya—October 2-9, 2022—still has a small number of spots available for Fall wanderers. Garrotxa is the heart of Catalunya, and the heart of our trip, where we will wrap the season around our shoulders like a shawl. Think open-fire cooking. Thinks wines as bright and red as a falling leaf. Think a hot-air balloon ride at dawn over amber hills. Think charcuterie and cheese from some of Spain's finest producers, in the valleys of their ancestors.

Garrotxa is also where our co-host Matt Goulding goes to write when he needs a place of supreme peace and even inspiration. Once you see Garrotxa through our eyes, with our friends and connections, you may also start imagining an extended retreat for yourself, perhaps next year in this, its finest season.

We can't guarantee space, but if you raise your hand soon we should still have room. Email us at league@roadsandkingdoms.com, or by SMS at 201-754-8548, to start your journey.
