Back from the Euro Trip of My Dreams!

After island hopping in Greece, I spent the past week in Mallorca!

It was my first time on the island and I'm obsessed! We started in the hilly UNESCO World Heritage site of Deià...and oh my goodness was it dreamy.

As a note, I don't really recommend traveling around Europe in August. It's the high season for tourism and everywhere is quite busy.

For us, this meant that accommodations and car rentals were completely booked out (and extremely overpriced). So in both Milos (in Greece) and Mallorca, we got the very last hotel bookings on the islands. And we paid double what we should have for something that was pretty meager.

That said, I was very thankful and excited to explore.

Just do as I say, not as I do. ;)

We rented a car on Naxos (in Greece) and in Mallorca to get around. And let me tell you, driving in Mallorca is no joke. Imagine narrow streets with two-way traffic and crazy steep hills.

As is often the case in Europe, ONLY manual cars were available. Fortunately, I know how to drive in manual, but let me tell you — it's no easy feat.

After we stayed in Deià, we moved to the southeast coast of Mallorca, which is known for its incredible beaches...and WOW did they live up to their reputation!

It was some of the bluest water I've ever seen.

We stayed at Finca Hotel Rural Es Turó — it's part of the Cassai Group of restaurants and hotels and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Our last night we had dinner at Gran Café, and there happened to be a live musician and some of the patrons got up and started to flamenco. It was an incredible send-off for the trip and there will be a lot of content and blog posts coming up! Stay tuned!

P.S. For those who have been inquiring about Charleston and Savannah — guides are coming your way! The WiFi across the islands wasn't great and made it nearly impossible to load photos...and what's a blog post without pics?

Those will be live shortly! :)

Fear of Missing Out

Not to rub it in (well, maybe just a little bit), but if you didn't join us on a U30X trip last month, you missed out on some solid adventures.

Costa Rica was perfection. Iceland was glorious. And Peru was magical, as always.

Check out what our travelers got up to in August!

image

Iceland

What a fun group in an awesome location!

From hanging out in hot springs, to hiking glaciers, to visiting (and walking behind!) multiple waterfalls, Iceland did not disappoint.

We even made a visit to the active volcano!

image

Peru & Machu Picchu

We cannot begin to explain how excited we are that Machu Picchu has re-opened to visitors!

Besides visiting this sacred site, we also hiked Rainbow Mountain, visited with a local Quechua community, and explored downtown Cusco!

image

Costa Rica

Beach mode: ACTIVATED!

...but there was so much more than just beach time. We rappelled down waterfalls, visited Manuel Antonio National Park and saw native Costa Rican animals, walked across hanging bridges, and even tried our hand at surfing.

image

Costa Rica Extended

Nine days flew by fast, and we could easily spend nine more days here!

We surfed, rafted, hiked, zip-lined, swam, walked across hanging bridges, and even kayaked near the Arenal volcano!
