I'm So Excited to Be Back in Santorini!

I'm so excited to be back in Santorini for the second time!

While it's definitely one of those postcard destinations that is overrun with tourists — there's no denying that it's absolutely charming and beautiful.

You might remember when I stayed at Andronis Boutique and Andronis Arcadia a couple summers ago. Well, I couldn't stay away for long!

I'm staying at Andronis Boutique — they're a luxury boutique hotel on a cliff overlooking the Aegean.

It's one of the best hotel I've ever stayed at in terms of hospitality. The staff is unbelievable. Anything you need or want they are on top of it—the in-room breakfast they setup is out of this world. Talk about top-notch service!

Like I mentioned above, some of the popular spots here are definitely crowded — especially the iconic sunset spot...however, when you stay in one of the luxury cave-style properties, it really feels like you're the only people on the island!

I'd still 100% recommend it as a romantic destination or a dreamy spot for a girls' getaway (which is why I'm here!).

I'm traveling with one of my best friends this time. Funnily enough, our first international trip together was on the Yacht Week Greece in 2014. It was almost exactly 7 years ago to the day!

I've only been able to see her once since COVID, so it's a longer overdue trip. I'm very excited for a little girl time.

We're going to be exploring some Greek Islands I've never been to and then heading to Mallorca to finish off the trip.

I'm very excited for all of it and it feels really amazing to be back in Europe!

I figured I'd address some questions that are coming up:

I am vaccinated — I only have to show proof of my vaccination card when traveling. However, if you're unvaccinated, you need to show a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours for every flight and ferry returning to the mainland. It could get pretty complicated if you are not vaccinated and want to travel Greece right now.

If you haven't heard, there have been some really serious fires in Greece in Turkey, which is a complete tragedy. They were mostly concentrated to the north of Athens and Evia Island, but even when flying into Athens I didn't see any smoke. Santorini is a 45-minute flight from Athens and the sky has been perfectly clear with no smoke. As far as I know, they are still battling the fires in Evia. If you'd like to support - here's a link to donate.

Face masks are still required by the FDA in all airports and on all flights; so I wore my mask for 20 hours straight — through all of my flights, connections, and layovers. So, I was very happy once I arrived on Santorini and got to breathe in the fresh air.

Outdoors you don't need to wear a mask, however, you do need to wear one indoors. From my understanding, if you are vaccinated, you can carry your vaccine card and dine indoors. Luckily, most things are outdoors and I prefer it!

Santorini is almost as busy as I remember it, however, I was told cruise ships haven't returned, which I hope stays that way. It's just an unreasonable amount of tourists descending upon the island at once, especially when these are small towns. I think it would be a very positive change for cruises to not be allowed back, but that's just my opinion.

Have any questions about Greece right now? Send them my way!
