Occupy V: 2 Ways to Help Morocco 🧡

In lieu of our normal Thursday newsletter, we want to call your attention to the strongest earthquake to hit Morocco in more than a century.

Luckily our group on the ground over the weekend was safe, but many Moroccans have lost everything. We've run trips for the past two years throughout Morocco, including The High Atlas Mountains, where the epicenter of the earthquake hit, leaving us with many friends and colleagues affected. Even if you don't have the financial means to donate, please consider using your social capital to share this post on social media to help the cause.

This is the biggest tragedy that we've faced as a company in our 11.5 years of operation. It leaves us wishing we could have done more in the moment and wishing we could do more now. As we continue to communicate with our partners on the ground, they will continue to assess the damage and make plans to rebuild.

1. Aroumd Earthquake Relief, U30X Traveler Organized

Our most recent Morocco group was in the region during the earthquake and organized a fundraiser to support the village of Aroumd.

Aroumd is a small Amazigh village in the Ait Mizane Valley of the High Atlas Mountains in Morocco, a stop on the trip itinerary, and home to our incredible Trip Leader, Youssef Boulite. Youssef showed incredible leadership in keeping the group safe, and it cannot be understated how grateful we are.

Funds raised will go directly to Aroumd for immediate relief with food, water, batteries, and shelter. If needed, funds may also be used to assist surrounding villages. All financial support will stay in Morocco.
