The Euro and the dollar have never been closer in exchange rate! They're currently sitting at a nearly 1:1 ratio...
So, if you're thinking about taking that Euro trip now is the time!
Last year when I went to Greece and Mallorca in August, it was around 1.2 USD:1 EURO — so consider it a 20% discount on your dream trip :)
On the note of Greece and Mallorca — going in August is definitely not for the faint of heart. It happened to be the busiest time of year...we're talking PEAK season. It was nearly impossible to book a rental car and so many hotels were fully booked.
Essentially, do as I say, not as I do.
Now is a great time to travel to Europe — so if you're flexible with timing, you can likely find some fantastic deals. Or, if you need a few months to prepare, September is a great time if you're open to traveling during the shoulder season (way fewer crowds!).
However, if you are looking to travel during the peak summer season, you will need to plan ahead and expect to pay premiums. If you're traveling somewhere where you'll need to rent a car or ATV — do this well in advance!
While I won't be jetting off to Europe this summer...I'll definitely be having the experience of a lifetime sometime around June 22nd, when our little one is due.
We are actually planning our first trip as a family for this fall. Any guesses as to where?
