Milos, You've Taken a *Greece* of My Heart

Milos content is LIVE!

For those that are looking to plan 2022 trips and Greece is on your mind — might I suggest Milos?

I'm already thinking about when I can go back and experience all of its incredible beaches. And that shrimp saganaki? DROOLING!

— Which, if you haven't had it before, is reason enough to travel to Milos.

On another note, I'm in Vegas this week!

As flashy of a place as it is, it's really remarkable to see all of the innovation and ingenuity that's gone into the architecture here. I mean, they've got the New York-New York Hotel, the Paris hotel, the Venetian...I've always found it incredible.

I also can't get over how many foodie spots there are here! If you've got a foodie recommendation for Vegas — please send it through! :)

Notes from the Road: Salton Sea Revisited

Salton Sea Revisited

Earlier in 2021, I had the chance to do something that modern travel writers rarely get to do: revisit a place and then consider what changed. In these updated notes from 2002, I explore what happened to the Salton Sea over the next twenty years. Includes interviews with local residents, new photography and an update on the area's continued ecological decline. This is a sister piece to my updated notes on Bombay Beach.

Death and Salvation on the Salton Sea

In twenty years of exploration along the fabled California sea, I encounter ecological devastation, lawless Slab City, zany prophets, burrow-dwellers, and at last, a bold hope for salvation.
