Occupy V: 🇨🇴 Want to Know Why We're STOKED About Colombia?

I had the incredible opportunity to go down to Colombia this past spring, and I want to share my thoughts with you about this amazing country in preparation of our trip launch to Colombia next week...

Colombia is a place that has captivated my imagination for years. So much so, that I've been five times.

As an expat living in Latin America, many people said it was the "next Costa Rica."

I agree, it is indeed similar to Costa Rica, but affordably priced, as one might desire when traveling to this region of the world.

As much as I love Costa Rica (I lived there from 2012-2019!), Colombia has a whole lot more to offer...

Yes, Colombia has incredible beaches like the ones we'll see in Santa Marta, and off-the-beaten-path national parks like Tayrona where you can explore the jungle...

But it also has incredible cosmopolitan cities like Medellin (where we are also hosting our next Digital Nomad Trip!), and amazing colonial architecture in the second oldest city in the Americas--Cartagena.

Getting to know my friend Danilo in San Basillo de Palenque, the first escaped slave settlement in the Americas, was pretty life-changing. He is so eager to welcome visitors to his community, he calls me "sangre," or blood, every time I see him.

And to address the elephant in the room, Colombia is nothing like you saw in Narcos back in the 80s...while the country still has a grittiness to it, I traveled safely with my wife and 2-year-old daughter, and we loved every second.
