Getting to know our most popular trip destination...
We <3 Iceland It's no secret that we love Iceland...and we'll take any opportunity to talk about it! From the waterfalls to glaciers to volcanoes, this country is one that should be on every travel bucket list. Here are a few reasons why we think Iceland is worth a visit:
1. Red Northern Lights Seeing the Northern Lights is a popular item on travelers' bucket lists. If you've planning a trip to Iceland, aim to visit between September and March for the best chances of seeing them. Even cooler, Iceland is one of the few places in the world where you can see red Northern Lights!

2. Icelandic horses They're b-e-a-utiful! They're also the only breed of horse in Iceland! They are said to be one of the purest breeds of horse in the world and are known for their muscular bodies and their ability to grow long hair in the winter and shorter hair in the summer.
Want to get on a local's bad side? Call their horse a mule or donkey (don't do this). They will get offended, and for fair reason!
3. Visible tectonic plates Þingvellir National Park in Iceland is one of only two places in the world where you can view tectonic plates meeting above the the earth's surface.
The North American and European tectonic plates move about 2 cm apart each year, and you can even snorkel between the plates!
4. Very eco-friendly Since most of Iceland's energy is produced by renewable sources, the country is ranked as of of the "greenest" countries in the world! Reykjavik has even set a goal of being completely carbon neutral by 2040.
5. Extremely safe drinkable water The water in Iceland is so pure and clean that locals will actually make fun of you if you buy it! You can fill up your reusable water bottle from any tap, or even from a river while on a hike! But, maybe ask your guide before doing so, just in case they know something about that stream that you don't know.
