Time to visit the Middle East? + Thailand Update

Hey, Occu! I've got an interesting email from Skyscanner and Booking.com the other day where they often send out newsletters to us travel bloggers with the latest travel trends they are seeing on their platforms. With all the news about the delta variant outbreaks, I thought travel would be in decline, but that doesn't seem to be the case according to these reports, especially in the middle east with Turkey and Egypt leading the way. This is probably due to the fact that the weather is becoming a little cooler as we enter autumn and so I decided to use this partial-lockdown time of mine and updated all my travel guides for Turkey and Egypt. All 13 travel guides have been updated with new information so if you are looking to visit somewhere this autumn and winter, be sure to check out our Turkey and Egypt travel guides. Plan A Middle East Trip A Personal Update As for a personal update, well as you know, I am still stuck in Bangkok for the time being. We are seeing more than 20,000 cases per day with 300 deaths every day so it's not looking great here in Thailand. The Phuket Sandbox seems to be doing ok though according to the tourism board, oh EXCEPT one tourist got murdered while she was hiking to a remote waterfall in Phuket, all for 300 baht. It is clear that people are on edge here due to the lack of money and work. I definitely wouldn't feel as safe to walk around with expensive camera gear in Thailand as I used to, that's for sure. But hey, tourist money is more important than the Thais, right? So sure, let's open the country to tourists some more and barred the infectious locals away. At this rate, we are going to have 2 separate Thailands with one for tourists and one for locals, just like what they did in Turkey back in May last year. That said, I finally got my first jab and I'm about to get the second one this coming Monday so yay! I am getting Sinopharm which I had to pay for around 50 USD myself but at this point, anything is better than nothing. I ended up having to spam my way into the registration website for an hour and a half with other millions of people wanting to get the jabs and I guess my stubbornness persevere 😅. Let's hope my second jab goes well! I hope you all are staying safe and enjoying your summer! Best, Pete R. Recent Articles
